Contact

I love working on music and am open to collaborations, producing, mixing, live performances, and other creative projects, both in person and remote. This includes composition (for albums and film), multi-instrumental session work, MIDI programming, as well as arranging and orchestration for strings, horns, layered vocals, and unconventional instruments or textures. I primarily work out of my base of operations at Secret Studio and a secondary project studio, and also travel for sessions, live shows, and record producing.

If you’re working on something and think I might be a good fit, feel free to reach out. You can use the form below or email me at ryanjewell1000@gmail.com.

Session Rates

Drums · Percussion · Production · Secret Studio · September 2026

Tracking is priced per song and recorded unattended: you send the song, I record to it, and you get the files back. If you'd rather be on the session while I play, directing as we go, those are booked by the hour instead. That can be in person, or remotely over Zoom and Audiomovers Listento. See Attended Sessions.

Drum Tracking Per song
Demo / Budget$125
One version, full multitracks. For writers, pre-production, and tight budgets. All add-ons available.
Basic Master$200
The standard session. Three versions, meaning three different approaches to the song, not three passes at one idea. Cymbal and snare selection and drum tuning to suit the song. Multitracks labeled by mic and version.
Custom Master$300
A full rhythm track arrangement: drums, percussion, and if the song calls for it, experimental altered sounds or electronic elements. Everything in Basic Master, plus the whole kit built around your song rather than the snare and cymbals alone. Sample pass included.
Add-Ons Per song
Percussion$20 / instrument
Each instrument is a full performance across the song. This rate is for percussion added to a session where I'm already tracking drums. Full list in the gear list below.
Percussion sessionstandalone$75 · $150 full arrangement
Overdubs to drums you already have, with no drum tracking from me. $75 for one or two parts, $150 for a full arrangement, since either way it's a dedicated setup and session.
Sample passincl. in Custom Master$25
I play each drum and cymbal a few times on its own, recorded separately from the song and delivered as full multitracks, so you can set your own mic balance and chop your own one-shots.
Video$50
Single-camera video of the performance, one per version.
Transcribed performance$75
Your programmed part learned and played as close to note-for-note as possible.
Drum pre-mix$100
Mixed and balanced drum tracks, tailored to your song and ready to drop in.
Electronic drums and percussion$150
Programmed beats and layered electronic percussion, on their own or built around live drums.
MIDI conversion$150
Your session's live drums converted to MIDI data, good for loops and demos.
Alternate takesask in advance$75
Two or three passes of each version with different fills and variations, so you can comp. Let me know before the session, since it changes how I record.
Revised version$75
Three versions are meant to give you real options, so revisions are rare. Best requested soon after the session while the kit and mics are still up, since an exact recall of the original sounds is not guaranteed once things have moved.

Attended Sessions Billed by time
Drums only$100 / hour
You pick the studio and the engineer. Attended in person or over Audiomovers Listento. I come in as the musician, and your engineer handles the recording.
Drums and engineering$125 / hour
I record myself in my room, with my mics and instruments, engineering the session as well as playing it. Attended over Zoom and Audiomovers Listento, so you hear it as I track and direct in real time.
Half dayfour hours$450
Drums and engineering in my room, attended.
Full dayeight hours$800
Drums and engineering in my room, attended. Best if you need a batch of songs tracked in a single day.
In-person day, your studioeight hours$600 plus travel
I come to you and play; your engineer records.

Two-hour minimum on hourly sessions. Attended time covers the performance and the direction; mixing, samples, and MIDI conversion are still add-ons.

Other Work

Drums are most of what I do, but not all of it. I produce and co-produce records, write arrangements for strings, horns, and ensembles, play bass, guitars, keys, and synths, and work on film and score projects. I also take on production and pre-production on its own: arrangement, direction, and song shaping before anything gets tracked.

These are quoted per project, since no two look the same. Tell me what you're making and I'll put a number to it.

Gear List

An extensive collection of unique vintage and modern gear. Drums: Ludwig, Slingerland, Gretsch, Pork Pie, Noble & Cooley, DW, Maestro, and Remo, some with calfskin heads. Percussion: shakers, tambourines, claves, woodblocks, bells, chimes, tabla, doumbek, bongos, hand drums, rototoms, slit drums, bombo legüero, a 32″ bass drum, found objects, and unique instruments made of wood, metal, and glass. Microphones: AEA, Beyerdynamic, American, Sennheiser, Shure, Electro-Voice, Solomon, and Miktek. Treatments: tape machines, guitar pedals, and acoustic resonators, for analog and acoustic mangling.
